The original leather protector

Sno-Seal’s beeswax formula waterproofs and conditions leather in one step—protection against rain, sun, snow, and salt that keeps boots, saddles, and gear doing their job for years, not seasons.

A STAPLE SINCE 1933

For over 90 years, while the outdoor industry has cycled through silicone sprays, synthetic coatings, and fluorochemical treatments, Sno-Seal has kept doing what beeswax does best: sealing leather from the inside instead of coating it from the outside.

We know this isn’t the type of gear you replace—it’s gear you take care of. Sno-Seal is part of that upkeep. And we want it to be the difference between replacing it next year, or using it for the next ten.

HOW IT WORKS

Heat opens the leather. Beeswax goes deep.

Old-school treatments use animal fats and petroleum oils that migrate through the leather and clog the same pores that are supposed to let your foot breathe. A tannery spends real effort stripping those fats out in the first place—we always thought it never made much sense to put them back in.

The result is leather that stays flexible in the cold, sheds water in the wet, and doesn’t dry out and crack from the outside in—the way surface treatments eventually do.

THE SNO-SEAL DIFFERENCE

Wet leather is heavy. Sno-Seal keeps it light.

A leather boot can soak up as much as a pound of water. Over the course of a mile, that’s an extra 2,212 pounds you’re lifting, one step at a time. Sno-Seal keeps water out of the leather in the first place, so your boots stay the way they’re supposed to be: dry, warm, and light.

Actually penetrates leather fibers—doesn’t just coat the surface

Works with Gore-Tex®-lined boots, letting trapped moisture escape instead of sealing it in

Odor-free after drying

Waterproofs and conditions in one application

WHY WE LOVE SNO-SEAL

Waterproofing that works from the inside out.

Penetrates, Doesn’t Coat

Beeswax penetrates leather fibers from the inside rather than sitting on the surface. Surface treatments peel, crack, and wear off. Sno-Seal protection goes all the way in.

Conditions as It Protects

Most waterproofing treatments don’t condition leather—they just block water. Sno-Seal does both, keeping leather supple while preventing drying and cracking.

Works on All Smooth Leather

Boots, saddles, work gloves, hiking gear. If it’s smooth leather, Sno-Seal will waterproof and condition it. With several types of applicators, it’s easy to find what you need.
